Why we started: responding to the Gampola floods

In late 2025, severe flooding swept through communities in the Gampola region of Sri Lanka. Families lost food, clothing, bedding, and in many cases the safe use of their homes. Lighthouse Church Gampola was damaged in the same flood — and kept serving its neighbors anyway.

On December 2, 2025, Lighthouse Global Mission Inc. was incorporated in Dallas, Texas. Later that month the board met with two things to decide: open a nonprofit bank account so donations could be received and tracked transparently, and begin raising support for cleanup, food and clothing distribution, shelter needs, medical support, and restoration coordinated through the church in Gampola.

The board agreed on something else in that meeting, and it has shaped everything since: fundraising would be conducted transparently and ethically, with clear reporting of how every dollar is used. No director takes a salary. The volunteers doing the work in Sri Lanka are people known personally to our founder. No funds are given to individuals without receipts.

In March 2026, the IRS recognized Lighthouse Global Mission as a 501(c)(3) public charity, effective back to the date of incorporation.
